Mold Testing
Have a mold concern? Start with the question you need answered. Infinity Home Inspection offers mold testing as a separate service, with air or surface sampling where appropriate and laboratory analysis.
Confirm the testing scope for your property before booking. Mold results are typically available within 24–48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. Sampling does not establish that every area of a home is free of mold.
What testing can help you understand
Testing can provide information about the samples collected. Tell the office about visible growth, moisture history, odors and the specific area of concern so the proposed scope can be discussed before booking. Sampling is not automatically the right answer for every concern.
Sampling has limits
A sample represents its collection location and conditions; it does not establish that every area of a home is free of mold. This service is not a medical diagnosis or a guarantee about health, future growth or successful remediation.
The EPA explains that testing is often unnecessary when mold growth is visible, and that there are no federal mold or mold-spore limits against which a building can pass or fail. Read EPA guidance on mold sampling.
What to confirm before scheduling
- The concern and areas to be assessed.
- Whether air sampling, surface sampling or another next step is appropriate.
- What the agreed service includes and does not include.
- The fee, laboratory reporting process and expected timing.
Common questions
Is mold testing included in a home inspection?
No. It is a separate service. A standard home inspection does not become a mold assessment merely because a moisture-related concern is noted.
Will the results be in my home-inspection report?
Laboratory results are provided separately from the home-inspection report. Confirm how those results will be delivered and explained for your requested service.
Does testing include mold removal?
This page describes testing, not a remediation service. Do not assume removal, repairs or post-remediation verification are included; confirm any additional needs separately.
